This does not pair with chocolate!
Out of all the wine dinners I’ve been to, this is honestly one of the worst pairings I’ve had. Maybe it was because the two cabernets before this would have gone better with the chocolate lava cake.
This is a Monday/Tuesday red blend. It’s a table wine. You can decant it to your crystal decanter and your guests will be none the wiser that it is a blend. And you won’t break the bank with the price point.
Final Thoughts
It is a good red blend (zinfandel/syrah), I just do not suggest putting it with dessert. It needs a spicy arrabbiata sauce or a hearty meatloaf.
The label is lovely, so consider it as a gift wine – but be sure to adhere to rule number six under gift wine etiquette.
