Farmhouse Vineyards Sangria

When it’s hot, who doesn’t love a good Sangria? I tried this both straight and the way they like to mix it.

Straight it’s a citrus forward sweet red wine with a cherry red color. It smells of pineapple, grapefruit, strawberry, peach and pear. Quite a nice wine for sitting on the porch or hanging out in the vineyard (see below). Or honestly, I’ll serve it for Book Club.

When the mix it they like to use pineapple juice, Gran Marnier and topo chico grapefruit.

Although, their notes on the website say that for cooler weather – serve it warm with a “with a dash of nutmeg & cinnamon, and top with a slice of blood orange.” I can see that, or maybe a for a holiday book club, in a crockpot with a clove studded orange and some cinnamon sticks.

Final Thoughts

I have the Blake Shelton song Sangria going through my head, which is unfortunately not on their Spotify Playlist (access it here).

I might mix my Book Club version with some cherries, pineapple chunks and maybe some mango or papaya. (I’ll let you know how that works out.)

Regardless, this is a wine that can be enjoyed all year round with any music but is best enjoyed with friends. And I plan to do just that.
