This was an amazing experience during the trip to Fredericksburg. Hosted by the Texas Hill Country Wineries, a non-profit organization, the dinner was described as:
The Fall Winemaker Dinner will feature 6 Texas Hill Country Winery Members and a special menu from Chef Henry Gutkin. Amongst owners, winemakers and special representatives from Texas Wine Collective, Hye Meadow Winery, Texas Heritage Vineyards, Airis ‘Ele Vineyards, Kuhlman Cellars and Stone House Vineyard you will enjoy a night of culinary excellence with a 6 course menu perfectly paired with some of the Texas Hill Country’s finest wines.
Despite the good food and wine it was made even more amazing because I actually got to sit with one of the winemakers. I’m sure my partner in wine was bored stiff with all the questions I asked, and I’m sure Tyler would have liked to just enjoy dinner without talking shop.
Now, you my not get to sit with a winemaker when you go – but it’s very much worth going for the experience and because a portion of event ticket sales and profits go to scholarships dedicated to supporting Texas students pursuing degrees in fields related to the wine industry. You can see pictures from the event below and find more information on upcoming events like the Winemaker Dinners at Texas Hill Country Wineries website.
