A bonus review on Farmhouse Vineyards, as Katy Jane let me try their latest Tempranillo.
This is a deep claret color with dark fruit scent, yet bright scents like Countrytime Lemonade (the yellow one, not the pink). Although I did get hints of Sprite and Ginger Ale. Which is my nose telling me it’s a spicy citrus scent.
My notes say it tastes like currants with a light wood taste and a dry finish that leaves you wanting more. The website says blackberries, cherry, fig and earth flavors and I’d have to agree.
Final Thoughts
It’s a perfect date night wine or Friday/Saturday night wine, and honestly I cannot wait for this one to be released. It will go well with steak, Italian sausage and peppers, and especially with a cozy blanket, book and fireplace.
