14 Hands Unicorn Rosé Bubbles

After a long, tiring day, what one needs is sunshine, lollipops, rainbows and unicorns.

14 Hands Unicorn Rosé Bubbles delivers. This was a perfect Wednesday night wine, and I’m not usually a fan of wines in a can. In fact, this is a perfect everyday wine. As I texted a friend – “surprisingly drinkable.”

It’s a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot from Columbia Valley, Washington.

It was crisp and refreshing with a light rosé flavor, and not too many bubbles. It went really well with beef and surprisingly well with coconut cake.

I didn’t get the cranberry, cherry, pomegranate that 14 Hands has as tasting notes, but instead got rose (yes, as in the flower) and apple.

Are there other rosés I might choose before this one for a dinner party or just a party – yes. But for me on a weeknight after a long day and needing something to sip on the porch with a book – it’s perfect.

Final Thoughts

Each can is equivalent to half a bottle of wine (375 ml), so a little deceptive when it comes to having the brain understand exactly how much one is drinking.

So what I meant by “surprisingly drinkable” was that it went down way too easy… so, next time, I’ll decant it into a glass. But it’s not so sweet I’d call it a porch pounder.

In other words, don’t go toe to toe with the boys and their beers… you might regret it in the morning when you have early meetings.

But the can does make it perfect for pool parties or on the beach.

But as the can says, it’s a limited edition, so you may want to stock up. Although, it can also be found in bottle format – but still limited edition – so much like unicorns themselves, when it’s gone, it’s gone.
